Pix
Pix is an unfinished game I was working on a while ago. It's probably not going to be completed any time soon, but it's still pretty cool, so give it a try!
Handy-Dandy Usage Guide:
IMPORTANT NOTE: When you start the project it could be black for a while while it loads! Just give it a minute or two!
When you spawn, you'll hopefully be on top of an island. If you're stuck in a block then you'll need the next part of the guide:
You can set your seed in the top left. Press [tab] to load the seed. You can also randomize the seed with [command] + [r], if your browser allows it :P
Move around with the arrow keys, and jump with space! Climb by holding the up arrow and walking against a wall.
About:
This game was in the works for a while, but due to its obvious similarities to Fez (and even more to come, had I finished the game), I put a temporary pause on development.
More About:
A large focus during development was the generation of the islands. We came up with a pretty novel (I think?) system where we generated a polygon with a base of two points in the water, using that structure as a guide to generate the other features of the island. Very cool stuff!
Even More About:
The character is pretty basic, but the player's info bar was a pretty interesting feature. The info bar in the top left of the screen displays the character's stamina through its expression, and the health (or terrain generation progress) as the bar to its right. During gameplay the bar was intended to display a variety of data, from terrain generation to crafting progress.
